FileShift Manager Privacy Policy

FileShift Manager Privacy Policy

About this policy

This policy describes how FileShift Manager, provided by It as a service, handles information when you browse, organize and analyze files. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact info@itservice.fun.

Information the app accesses

FileShift Manager uses Android’s system picker to access folders and individual documents you choose. It can retain Android access permissions so authorized locations remain accessible between sessions. It does not scan device-wide storage. Folder analysis includes subfolders within the selected scope.

The app reads file and folder names, document identifiers and provider references, file types, sizes and modification dates where the storage provider makes them available. For duplicate detection, it reads file contents and calculates SHA-256 hashes on your device to compare files with matching sizes. Copying and moving files also requires reading their contents and writing them to your chosen destination.

File names, folder names and file contents may contain personal or sensitive information. You control which documents and folders you authorize.

How information is used

The app processes this information to browse and search folders; filter files; display details; preview and apply batch renames; copy and move files; identify duplicate content; delete selected duplicates; and calculate storage summaries, file-type breakdowns and largest-file lists. Available details and operations depend on the selected storage provider.

The app also records operation results so you can review completed, skipped and failed actions. History does not provide undo. Duplicate deletion is permanent, and moves or replacements can change existing files.

Information stored on your device

FileShift Manager stores connected folder names and references, favorite locations, collection names and shortcut assignments, the report-format preference, and operation history in local Android app preferences. History can include timestamps, action descriptions, file names, destination folder names, results and error messages. The saved history is limited to the latest 300 entries.

Folder listings, search and rename inputs, scan results and duplicate comparisons are processed in app memory rather than saved as a separate analysis database. Your files remain with the selected storage providers unless you choose an operation that changes, copies, moves or deletes them.

Developer collection, advertising and SDKs

The inspected implementation does not send file contents, metadata, hashes or operation history to It as a service. It has no account registration, advertising, analytics or remote crash-reporting integration. Its declared libraries support the interface, Android integration and local processing; no advertising or analytics SDK was identified.

The Android configuration includes Internet permission, but the inspected app features do not implement direct uploads or requests to a developer-operated server.

Sharing and storage providers

When you choose Open or Share, the app passes the selected file’s reference and temporary read permission to the app you select through Android. When you export an analysis report, it passes the report text to your selected app. Reports can contain file names, sizes and file types; text reports also include the selected folder names, scan time and summary statistics. Review reports before sharing them.

Copying or moving files transfers their contents to the destination provider you choose. Connected providers may include cloud storage services. Those providers and the apps you choose to open or receive files may process information under their own privacy policies, including transmitting it over a network. FileShift Manager does not control their handling of that information.

Android backup

The app’s Android configuration allows backup. Depending on your device, Android settings and backup service, locally saved app preferences may be included in system backup or restoration. Such backups are separate from the app’s file-management features and are controlled by the relevant system or service.

Security

The app uses Android’s permission system and system document picker to limit access to locations you authorize. Locally saved preferences use Android’s app-private storage. Some operational failures are written to Android system logs with exception details, which may include provider references or other diagnostic information. No remote log reporting is implemented.

The inspected implementation does not add encryption to files or saved preferences. Encryption for cloud-provider transfers, shared information or system backups depends on the relevant provider and device configuration; this policy does not assert that every such transfer is encrypted. No storage or security method guarantees complete protection.

Retention and your controls

Saved connections, favorites, collections and preferences remain until you remove them, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app, subject to Android backup and restoration behavior. Saved operation history remains until cleared or displaced by the 300-entry limit. Scan results and other temporary working information are not intentionally retained across app sessions.

You can clear operation history in Settings, remove folder connections, and remove collections or shortcuts. Removing a connection attempts to release its retained folder permission and removes the saved connection; it does not delete the underlying files or erase existing history. Removing shortcuts also leaves underlying files intact.

Android’s app-storage controls can remove locally saved app data. Files in your chosen storage locations, reports already shared with other apps, and provider or system backups must be managed separately through those services or Android settings.

Deletion requests

For questions about deleting information, email info@itservice.fun. The app does not implement a developer-hosted account or file database, and the developer cannot remotely clear your device’s app storage or delete copies held by your chosen providers or recipients. Use the local controls described above to manage app data.

Children’s privacy

An intended child audience or minimum user age has not been established in the available product information. The inspected implementation does not request age information or create user profiles. File access and local processing work as described above regardless of the user’s age. Parents or guardians with privacy questions may contact info@itservice.fun.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to FileShift Manager or its information-handling practices. Review the policy made available with the app for updates.
